Areas of Expertise
pest management
This category falls under our “GRC” License which stands for General Rodent and Pest Control. This means we treat rodents (rats and mice) and insects - ants, spiders, bees, wasps, hornets flies, ticks, chiggers, moths, box elder bugs, bed bugs, and other ‘creepy-crawlies.” This excludes termites.
Insecticides are designed for general use insects that invades people’s dwellings or structures (inside and outside).
Rodenticides and/or capture, along with exclusion measures can be used to eliminate rodents.
Wood destroying organisms & insects
This category falls under our “"WDO” License, which stands for Wood Destroying Organisms and Insects. This includes termites, carpenter bees, wood destroying beetles… any wood destroying insect.
Treating for WDOs is different than treating for other insects (which fall under GRC license). They aren’t inside the home, as a general rule. Most insects are treated with a chemical that the insect would crawl across, but WDOs infest wood.
Termites are treated with chemicals that are injected into the soil that are designed to last years. Unlike general use insecticides, termiticides are designed for special use in the soil.
Carpenter bees and wood destroying beetles can be treated by dusting or spraying. Afterwards, the wood itself can be treated to protect it from further infestation.
fumigation
This category falls under a special type of license called a ‘FUM’ License. Fumigation is a specialized form of pest management that not all pest control companies have. It takes longer to do, but it’s the most effective form of exterminating. Fumigation can be used to treat any kind of insects or rodents. It’s most typically used to treat wood and grain infesting beetles, termites, rodents and bedbugs.
This type of treatment is the most effective because a poisonous gas is used. This gas gets in places that insects can hide; places that general insecticides can’t. For example: an insecticide would coat a wall, but not go into the wood of the wall. Fumigation gas can penetrate the wood and go where the insects would go to hide (and survive) from insecticide chemicals.
Fumigation is dangerous because a poisonous gas is used. In some cases, it requires security to be present to ensure no one enters the structure during fumigation.
